We are currently planning our next event!

Fatal Friday: A Plugin Happening – October 2017

Plugin reopened the doors of the vacated Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home & Cremation Centre. As you wandered the mansion of one of the city’s earliest industrialists, you might have met the spirits of residents past. Or in the empty embalming room, you could have heard the voices of thousands of dearly departed. And what did you find when you crawled through the attic casket closets with a flashlight in hand?

Proceeds: Extend-A-Family

Canada: A Plugin Happening – July 2017

We experienced Canada like never before! You and your flannel-cladded friends tried your hand at Inuit inuksuk building, or got bucked off an angry Albertan bull. We headed down to Victoria Park to celebrate Canada’s 150th year with poutine, beer, cover songs, and more apologies than you can shake a beaver tail at, eh?

Proceeds: Child Witness Centre

Pints and Pianos: A Plugin Happening – February 2017

We took over the second floor of the newly renovated Walper Hotel with local brews, #DTK trivia and a full-out duelling piano competition. What is a piano duel you may ask? Duelling pianos is a form of improv entertainment, usually with two grand pianos, each played by professional who sing and entertain. Audience song suggestions, humour and battling are common.

Proceeds: Ray of Hope

Halloween: A Plugin Happening – October 2016

A night of fright at Halloween – the fourth event of Plugin took over an abandoned night club with dreadful drinks, tortured treats, and maybe a monster mash or two. #DTK dressed up in costume for a howlin’ good time — it was a no-brainer!

Proceeds: St. John’s Kitchener

Alley, Art & Ale: A Plugin Happening – July 2016

Alley, Art & Ale – the third event of Plugin, took over Goudies Lane in #DTK with a graffiti art battle and booths from local restaurants and breweries. You could cast your vote for the best street art, win prizes, and enjoy some tunes blaring from the parking garage above.

Proceeds: Lutherwood

Pub, Park & Paddle: A Plugin Happening – May 2016

Pub, Park & Paddle – the second event of Plugin, a public and civic initiative hosting amazing events that help to celebrate the culture and community in Waterloo Region. This time, we held a fun evening at The Boathouse complete with drinks, apps, and live music! Canoes were available during the evening for you to paddle away around Victoria Park Lake.

Proceeds: Big Brothers Big Sisters of Waterloo Region
